Whilst out in the field, our volunteers gather testimonials from the people they care for.

This enables us to use their experience to advocate for change.

Advocacy
Part of Médecins du Monde’s remit is to “bear witness”. Through a system of reporting that runs alongside our medical activities, our volunteers gather first-hand testimonies from the vulnerable people who we provide medical care for.

In situations where there is difficulty accessing healthcare, or human rights abuses are taking place, then Médecins du Monde will publish a Special Report highlighting these injustices. Extracts of the testimonies are included, taking care to preserve anonymity. This method gives a voice to people who might not otherwise be heard.

These reports are sent to the local and international media and to the relevant governments as part of Médecins du Monde’s advocacy work: doing what we can to make health a human right.
