Project: London, priority is given to people not registered with a
General Practitioner (GP) or who have been denied access to healthcare.
Project: London is not a GP practice and does not offer treatment for long-term conditions that need regular monitoring.
Specially trained support workers:• Inform people about how to access and use mainstream services.
• Provide information in the service users own language if necessary.
• Help people to register with a GP.
• Help to access specialist services such as dentists or counselling.
•
Advocate on behalf of service users if they struggle to make phone
calls, organise interpreting services and by accompanying people to
appointments.
Fully qualified medical staff:• Discuss health concerns with service users.
• Provide short-term medical care before the service users are helped to register with a GP.
• Treat most infections and acute conditions.
• Issue private prescriptions from a limited list of drugs which will be available free of charge to service users.
