Clinic Doctor
The responsibilities for the Clinic Doctor include:

•    Providing medical checks for service users in the clinic setting.
•    Provide information on appropriate services the service user should access
•    Completing medical forms for our clinic to abide by Healthcare Commission regulations.
•    Raise awareness amongst service users on the importance of maintaining their health.
•    Educate service users on maintaining good physical or mental health until they access mainstream services.
•    Prescribe appropriate medication for service users, if required.
•    Advocate on behalf of service users to fellow medical professionals in the NHS.

Qualifications and qualities required to volunteer as a Clinic Doctor include:
•    Full registration with the General Medical Council to practice medicine in the UK
•    Completed two years Senior House Officer training or equivalent
•    Medical Indemnity Insurance Cover which includes working in Medecins du Monde’s clinic
•    Confident working with interpreting services
•    Non-judgmental behaviour or attitude towards our service users and confidence in working with service users from diverse backgrounds.
•    Fluency in English
•    Confident telephone manner
