Turn words into action - Volunteer Interpreters for Project:London

Doctors of the World is looking for interpreters who would be available to interpret by phone for
patients at our free clinic.

We are currently looking for interpreters for the following languages:

  •     Tamil
  •     Bangla
  •     Romanian
  •     Urdu
  •     Portuguese
  •     Hindi
  •     Bulgarian
  •     Mandarin
  •     Tigrinya
  •     Punjabi
  •     Amharic
  •     Arabic
  •     Pashto
  •     Farsi

We require volunteers who have a desire to help vulnerable migrants, with;

  •     Clear communication skills,
  •     Fluency in English and other languages
  •     With a non judgemental attitude
  •     Availability during clinic hours (via phone)

Knowledge of and interest in health issues would be desirable

You will be providing an efficient, clear interpreting service for support workers and service users. You may also be required to do face-to-face interpretations, if needed, and also may need to accompany service users to access health services.
