Doctors of the World is looking for an Administration Intern to support Project London. Project:London is an advocacy project, established in 2006 which provides information, advice and practical assistance to vulnerable people to help them access NHS and other services. In order to access the most hard-to-reach groups, Project:London's volunteer teams provide basic healthcare in the interim period, until people are able to reach mainstream services.
The position is unpaid and we are only able to reimburse the travel and lunch up to 10 pounds a day.
Responsibilities include:
- Organising the clinic logistics
- Organising the HR Administration of the project
- Ensuring the health and safety of the clinic
- Building good relationships with vulnerable people
- Specific projects relating to project needs
Essential
- Desire to help vulnerable migrants
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- Fluency in English
- Non-judgemental attitude
- Good IT and internet skills
- Available full time for at least 6 months
Desirable
- Fluency of other languages
- Understanding of health and safety
Once the main functions of the role are covered there is the opportunity for the intern to propose projects to improve the working of the clinic.
